Anyways, I'm following the motto Hakuna Matata, and trying not to stress out. I am finally gonna give myself a little tiny break tomorrow by sleeping in (though I will probably stay up late tonight as usual). I've been using a different sketchbook to practice figure drawing from PoseManiacs.com (thank you Michelle (MajoraEmpress) for the wonderful advice to use this site). I've improved amazingly in my quick sketches of people and drawing from my imagination due to that site. I use the 30 and 60 second tools to learn quick gesture drawing, which helps when drawing random people from the mall (which is my new idea of getting life drawing in).
Now, I have found another college I want to apply to. It's called Laguna College of Art + Design at Laguna Beach, California. I hear they are dedicated to teaching the classical traditional way of 2D animation before anything else, which is exactly what I want. I hear they are hard to get into though, but I sent a counselor from there an email to get more information.
Also, I am going to School of Visual Arts (SVA)'s regional event in PA on October 6th. I registered and will get my portfolio reviewed. I am taking a figure drawing class starting this monday so that gives me THREE classes (totaling 9 HOURS! of figure drawing that I will have done before the event, not including the random figure drawings of mall-lurchens.)
I am also awaiting an email from UArts admissions that will tell me if I can make an appointment to get my portfolio reviewed at the Open House on October 26th. I am really hoping they will let me so I can go down to philly and get it reviewed, but also get to hang with my good buddies Ryan (RADMANRB) and JJ (shadowXwriter518), who also did the UArts PreCollege 2009 animation class (which was an AMAZING experience).
Currently, here are the schools I am applying to:
1. CalArts
2. SCAD
3. SVA
4. Laguna College of Art + Design
5. UArts
I am also going to look more into Sheridan since I hear it's a very prestigious animation college (and I believe for 2D as well as 3D). But very difficult to get in, just as much as CalArts.
Anyway, I like writing long journals to get it off my chest before.. (cue dramatic violins).. it's too..late.. hahaha okay, well that is all for now.
Check out SVA's Jake Armstrong's "The Terrible Thing of Alpha-9!"

I still have to finish watching it, but it has a very unique art style and interesting story to it. I really like it haha.
That is all. Hakuna Matata!

We pencil sketch our previous life so we can contrast it to the t e c h n i c o l o r of the moment.
That is how we proclaim a ~beginning~
